Each year, Girlguiding’s Girls’ Attitudes Survey takes a snapshot of what girls and young women think on a wide range of issues. The challenge for us was to take what had previously been a text-based report with a few charts, to a fully engaging visual story of the data, that was far easier to digest and dip in and out of. An animated film and social media graphics were also required to help share the key messages.
We created the visual concept of ‘speaking with one voice’ – the voices of girls and young women across the UK coming together to speak with greater volume than they would alone. The printed report utilises a speech bubble die cut in the cover to wrap and lock itself closed. We created colour-coded sections for the report, dividing the sections distinctly. Each section is introduced with a written summary, and then uses a series of type, infographics, charts, icons and large key stats to display the data as well as quotes from the surveys to ensure the girls voices remain the focus for the reader.
